ABSTRACT SUBMISSION IS CLOSED
Call for Late Breaking Abstracts & Emerging Talent Award
The REM2026 Organising Committee invites the submission of late breaking abstracts that present recent research advances not previously submitted. Accepted abstracts will be presented as e-posters and included in the REM2026 Book of Abstracts, which will be published as a special issue of IOMP Journal Medical Physics International (MPI). Authors will also have the opportunity to submit full papers for publication in the IFMBE Proceedings Series (Springer), an indexed journal with an impact factor.
We warmly encourage submissions from students and early-career professionals, who may be eligible for a special registration rate and the opportunity to compete for the Young Talent Award.
Eligible applicants must be under the age of 35 and meet one of the following criteria:
– Graduate or undergraduate student;
– PhD student;
– Resident in a postgraduate clinical program.
Applicants must also:
– Serve as the presenting author of the submitted abstract;
– Submit an abstract to the symposium through the regular submission process;
– Attach proof of academic status during the abstract submission process.
Shortlisted candidates may be invited to participate in a dedicated Young Talent Award session.
Special registration fee
Upon acceptance, eligible candidates will receive a special registration rate of:
€ 200 – regular fee or
€ 100 – reduced fee for applicants from low-income, lower-middle-income, or upper-middle income countries.
Eligible authors whose abstracts have already been submitted and accepted and who wish to compete for the Young Talent Award are requested to inform the organisers by emailing rem2026@roentgen-bg.org and providing proof of their academic status.

Important deadlines

1 March 2026: Submissions open
1 April 2026 (midnight CET): Submissions close
15 April 2026: Authors notification of abstract acceptance
30 April 2026: Registration of presenting authors31st December 2025: 15 January 2026: Submission of abstracts for oral or e-poster presentation.30th January 2026: 2 February: Submission of abstracts for only e-poster presentation.
15th March 2026: Authors notification of abstract acceptance.
30th March 2026: Registration of presenting authors of accepted abstracts.
Preparing an abstract
- Abstract should be prepared in English. Linguistic accuracy is authors’ responsibility.
- Abstract title must be in sentence case and concise, preferably within 20 words.
- The body of the abstract must be limited to 400 words and displayed as a plain text; do not add section titles in the abstract.
- Abstracts must contain original information, with a brief description of the purpose, method, results and conclusions of the work.
- Do not insert tables, figures and references.
- All abbreviations must be defined in first use.
- The abstract must contain no commercial promotional content.
Submitting an abstract
- Abstracts should be submitted only using the online submission form.
- To submit an abstract, you need to create account from the link ‘Create an Account’ on the Login page, and activate it from the link, which will be sent to your registration email address.
- After login to your dashboard, select “New abstract”, and complete each section of the online abstract submission form. Be sure to carefully follow the instructions within each section.
- Names and affiliations, including cities and countries, and email addresses of all contributing authors should be provided.
- Add the contact details of the presenting author. Please note that one individual can be the presenting author for a maximum of two abstracts; there is no limit on the number of abstracts in which a person may appear as a co-author.
- Indicate the symposium topics under which you would like your abstract to be considered. If accepted, the program committee will assign it to a symposium session, taking the author’s preferences into account.
- Abstracts may be submitted for oral, e-poster, or “either” presentation. The program committee will make the final decision, taking the author’s preference into account.
- The presenting author must ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract and agree to its submission, before submitting the abstract.
- Ensure that all sections are completed, read and agree with the terms and conditions, and submit your abstract.
- You can edit your abstract within the abstract submission deadline, which is 31st December 2025. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered for oral presentations.
- Late breaking abstracts for only e-poster presentation can be submitted by 30th January 2026. The same online submission platform will be used, with the same requirements as for the other abstracts.
Review and acceptance process
- All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by a panel of international experts.
- Acceptance or rejection of abstract will be sent to presenting authors latest 15th March 2026 by email. Authors will be notified if the abstract is accepted for oral or e-poster presentation.
- In order an accepted oral or e-poster presentation to be included in the program and to be published in the Book of Abstracts and in the Proceedings, at least one of the authors must complete a registration form and pay the registration fee by 31st March 2026.
- One registered participant can present maximum two abstracts.
- If you need to withdraw your abstract after it has been accepted, a written statement reflecting the reasons for this decision must be sent to rem2026@roentgen-bg.org before 30th April 2026.
