Weather
June in Sofia offers delightful early-summer conditions. You can expect maximum daytime temperatures to reach around 23-24°C, while the nighttime lows are about 12–13 °C.  Overall mean temperature is around 18 °C.

Time
In Bulgaria, the standard time is Eastern European Time:
Winter time: UTC (GMT) +2 hours (October through March)
Summer time: UTC (GMT) +3 hours (April through September)

Currency and payment
From the 1st of January 2026, Bulgaria officially joined the Eurozone, and the official currency is now Euro (EUR).
Debit and credit cards are widely accepted, especially Visa and Mastercard.
Card payment is accepted on all types of public transport in Sofia, including metro, buses and trams.
Most official taxis now accept credit/debit cards, but it is recommended to ask the driver in advance.
Cash may be needed in some small restaurants, markets and taxis.

Electricity
The standard voltage is 220 V at a frequency of 50 Hz. The standard European plugs and sockets type “C” and “F” are used.
